My sister owns a landscaping company, and when the current economical climate threatened to ruin most small to medium businesses. She saw a gap. A lot of houses for sale started popping up everywhere. Due to people being unable to pay for them. She thought where there are houses for sale, there is landscaping to be done. Turns out she was right. Most people want the highest possible value the can get for their houses for sale. Its a well known fact that a good landscaped garden can actually add to the appeal and price of houses for sale.
So now when ever there are houses for sale she drops by gives a small presentation to the home owners. And Bob's your uncle. She got a small one month contract, just to fix up the garden. Which is great cause that means after a month she can go and find other houses for sale, and the pattern continues. I never thought my sister would be so successful at this. But I have to give it to her that was a very intelligent move on her part. She is filling a gap in the market just cause she looked positively at something negative "houses for sale".
In recent months I've helped a lot and have gotten her listed at real estate agents. When owners put their houses for sale. Agents always inform them of how to improve the value of the houses for sale. As such she give them a cut of her profits in return for her being able to landscape the houses for sale's garden. So now when ever an estate agent, in our area, lists a property that has a garden in need of a bit of TLC. She is probably the reason it will look great. Its a win win, the owners of the houses for sale get more for their houses and it sells quicker. Whilst her business is a huge success.
